At Kunes Auto Group, giving back to our communities has always been at the heart of what we do. On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Kunes Ford of East Moline and Kunes Nissan of Davenport proudly supported Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley during their thrilling annual Over the Edge fundraising event.
This year, the Kunes Foundation approved a generous $2,500 donation to help fuel BBBS’s mission of youth mentoring. In addition to that support, our dealerships from East Moline (Team 29) and Davenport (Team 36) also participated in this unforgettable day.
The Event: Over the Edge 2025
- Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025
- Time: Rappel times between 9 AM – 5 PM
- Location: Hotel Blackhawk, 200 E. 3rd Street, Davenport
- Experience: 11 stories (140 feet) rappelled down the north side of the building
The Over the Edge event brought together 100 participants who rappelled down the iconic Hotel Blackhawk to raise critical funds for youth mentoring. The event had already sold out well before event day, and the energy throughout the day was electric as participants showed courage, teamwork, and commitment to supporting kids in the Quad Cities.
The Impact
Funds raised from Over the Edge went directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley, supporting their life-changing one-to-one youth mentoring programs. The impact was immediate—helping BBBS reach more children facing adversity and giving them the support needed to unlock their potential.
The event saw an incredible mix of participants: teenagers rappelled alongside their mentors, community leaders joined in, and even a 90-year-old thrill-seeker took on the challenge. The stories shared that day proved that anyone can rise above and make a difference.
For Kunes Auto Group, this sponsorship and participation reflected our continued commitment to strengthening our communities. By donating, sponsoring, and going “Over the Edge,” our teams helped inspire hope and possibility for children in the Quad Cities.
Looking Ahead
While this year’s event has wrapped up, the memories and impact will last for years to come. For those who want to experience this one-of-a-kind adventure in the future, BBBS has already opened the 2026 Interest Form.
Together with BBBS, we celebrated courage, community, and the belief that every child has the potential to achieve greatness.
